Scouts (age 10½-14 yrs)

Thursdays  7:00 pm - 8:30 pm (Hall)

The 4th Potters Bar Scout Troop runs a very active and inclusive programme. Through their Thursday evening meetings, Scouts are equipped and challenged to develop their own skills, knowledge and understanding. Recent programme highlights include: Cooking - indoor, outdoors and ‘backwards’, D&T activities - such as making bird boxes and bird feeders, Pioneering - such as building giant rope swings, rope bridges across lakes and water catapults and Orienteering challenges in and around Hertfordshire. There are also some quieter evenings where we play games or have learnt the Scout promise in sign language.

We have a pretty packed outdoor programme too! From ‘Fire and Ice’ and 24-hour activity camps, to weekends hiking in Dartmoor, the Lakes or Lochearnhead in the Scottish Highlands. We also regularly run patrol, group and International camps, so there’s always an incredible selection of events on offer. Additionally, there are extra activities like abseiling, climbing, canoeing, cycling, rafting, tobogganing and trips to London, Pantomimes, Quasar and Skiing that we organise too!
